When you go to Bali, you must visit Penida! Penida is divided into the east and west routes, which are quite far apart. Most people choose the west route. Kelingking Beach is indeed worthy of being the location for Apple wallpapers; what you see is what you get. However, the Diamond Beach on the east route is truly beautiful. The two routes offer different sceneries! It's hard to say which one is more beautiful. If you're not in a hurry, choose to stay on the island for a day, spending one day on the west route and another on the east route! I was short on time, so I chose a one-day tour of both routes. The photo-taking time was indeed short, but the pictures turned out amazing, 🥰 any random shot is a masterpiece, and the trip ended at 3:30 PM. The roads on the island are narrow and in poor condition; I don't recommend riding a motorcycle 🏍 by yourself, as many accidents happen. It's safer to hire a car because the ride is very bumpy. All I can say is that both the east and west routes are worth it, and I can accept this level of tiredness 😂. 1⃣ The driver picks you up from the hotel at 6:30 AM to get the ferry tickets from the shipping company. He will give you a colored tag, which actually represents different shipping companies. You go to the pier and board the ferry according to the color. I took the 7:40 AM ferry and arrived at Penida around 8:30 AM. 2⃣ You drive to the farther east route first, which takes about 1 hour. I arrived at Diamond Beach at 10:17 AM, and it's absolutely worth the visit. You'll stay for about 40 minutes, and any casual photo is wallpaper-worthy. It's even more spectacular and open than Kelingking Beach. I didn't queue for the purely for-check-in treehouse; instead, I went straight to lunch. A simple meal for lunch took about half an hour. 3⃣ The lunch spot is very close to the west route, where Kelingking Beach is located. You stay for 45 minutes, and it's more crowded than the east route. The steps are incredibly high, and I saw people climbing up using both hands and feet. Going down to Keling Beach is a long and unsafe path, very hot and easy to get injured. There was a fire before, and rescue was slow. After that, I visited Angel's Billabong and Broken Beach. Luckily, I also saw dolphins 🐬. 4⃣ The trip ends at 3:30 PM, and you head to the pier. I arrived at the pier at 4:30 PM and took the 4:45 PM ferry, arriving at Sanur Harbour at 5:39 PM. 5⃣ The driver takes you back to the hotel. Although it was tiring, both the east and west routes are beautiful, and as an adult, I want to experience both! When the weather is good, it's really like a filter-free jelly sea! Joining a group tour was so wise, both cheap and worry-free! If there are fewer than 4 people, they will match you with others. A car can take up to 4 people, and you can take photos for each other~ I joined 3 others by myself, and we talked a lot throughout the day and became friends, truly a unique experience! The driver is both a guide and a photographer because he knows where the beautiful spots are and how to find the right angles, just like those goddess photos on Instagram! He also operates the camera like a pro, which saves a lot of time. If you take photos by yourself, you might spend too much time and not be able to visit all the attractions.
