There is a natural geopark in Fengkai called Thousand Layers Peak, which is similar to the geology of Zhangjiajie and belongs to the sandstone peak landform. The park covers an area of ​​280 hectares and stretches dozens of peaks, consisting of layered sand shale and some calcareous shale of various forms. Whereas the Thousand Layers Peak Formation was deposited about 400 million years ago, after which the crust was uplifted, the current peak group landform was formed by the long-term erosion of flowing water over 10 million years ago.
