Guiyang Hotel Stay Experience I stayed in three hotels in Guiyang, and I made a brief record of them. Sofitel Guiyang Hunter:Sofitel Suite Located in the old city, you can overlook Jiaxiu Tower from the room, which is less than 10 minutes' walk away. It is close to the shopping mall and has many dining options, but the lobby is on an elevated road. Whether going to the shopping mall or Jiaxiu Building, you need to walk up three flights of stairs to get down to the ground, which is a bit difficult for the elderly. Although the Sofitel suite we stayed in is called a suite, it is actually a room + a large semicircular balcony. The balcony area includes the living room + bathroom + toilet. The view outside the window is quite good, but maybe the old city is more energy-efficient? After nightfall, the tall buildings outside are dark and not so brightly lit. There were three of us staying in the hotel, and the happy hour in the executive lounge was not charged extra (the hotel in the capital charged double the price for only one more person in the lounge). Guiyang Nanyue Holiday Inn: One-Bedroom City View Suite Also located in the old city, this hotel was booked to make it convenient for the elderly to go to the nearby Guizhou Grand Theater to watch the colorful Guizhou-style performances at night. However, I forgot that you still need to go up and down the overpass and walk up the stairs to cross the road. There is actually no view outside the suite window, just a shabby large construction site. The sofa in the living room can be opened to become a double bed, and there is a bathroom in the living room and bedroom. Although the air conditioner in the room was broken and kept blowing cold air, after I reported it to the front desk, two electric heaters were quickly delivered and the problem was solved. The buffet breakfast also offers magical Zhe Er Gen milk tea, but I didn’t dare to try it. Guiyang Guanshan Lake Amber Hotel: Macaron Family Room Located in the new city area, close to the high-speed rail station, there is also a large shopping mall opposite the hotel, which makes eating and shopping quite convenient. The pick-up and drop-off service provided by the hotel is not its own car, but a Didi special car called by the housekeeper. The front desk is relatively small and connected to the lobby bar. It was a bit confusing when there were so many people checking in. But the butlers are very warm and friendly, and they can also take you around the hotel and explain the design ideas of each place. The family room we booked is actually two separate guest rooms next to each other at the corner, sharing a small corridor. Once the door outside the corridor is closed, it becomes a private space. The bedding was very comfortable, but it was a pity that the hot water in the room seemed to have some problems. The shower felt cold. I was too lazy to find a housekeeper so I just made do with it. There is no executive lounge, but desserts are provided when you turn down the bed. The buffet breakfast is in the attached French restaurant, which has good environment and dishes.
