City Escape with a Side of Rock Climbing

#summervacay Checked out Gwanaksan for a hike and honestly, it was way cooler than I expected. It’s super close to the city, so you can literally hop on the subway and be at the base of the mountain in no time. The trail we picked started out chill but then turned into a bit of a climb, lots of rocky parts where you’ve gotta use your hands a little. Felt like mini rock climbing, but fun, not scary. The views are next level. You get that wild mix of nature and city, trees and cliffs in one direction, skyscrapers in the other. There’s even a little temple partway up where you can take a breather and snap some pics. The summit was a bit crowded but the energy was good, everyone’s just happy to be up there. Definitely bring good shoes, and maybe gloves if your hands don’t love gripping rocks. Gwanaksan’s perfect if you want a short city escape with a bit of an edge.
