| You can also buy them in Hengshui. Introduction to Wuqiang New Year Pictures
Wuqiang New Year Pictures, named after its place of origin in Wuqiang, Hebei, can be traced back to the Song and Yuan dynasties, flourished in the Ming and Qing dynasties. By the end of the Qing Dynasty, there were more than 140 painting shops in the southern part of Wuqiang, and more than 60 villages around had thousands of painting workshops, forming the Wuqiang painting industry center, with an annual output of up to 100 million pairs of open prints, selling to half of China.
Wuqiang New Year Pictures' drawing, carving, printing, and mounting are all handmade crafts, which have formed a rich local feature over nearly a thousand years. They are characterized by thick and wide money strips, vivid images, full composition, bright colors, and a wide variety of types. They decorate festivals, bring good luck and prosperity, pray for blessings and auspiciousness, fully reflect folk customs and sentiments, and are praised as 'a miniature of agricultural society' and 'an interpretation of the Eastern Bible.'
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Wuqiang New Year Pictures have inherited and developed, innovated and kept pace with the times. In 1993, Wuqiang was named by the Ministry of Culture as 'the hometown of woodblock New Year pictures'; in 2003, it was designated as 'one of the first ten pilot projects of the Chinese national folk culture protection project'; in 2005, it was selected as 'the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list', and in 2006, Wuqiang New Year Pictures special stamps were issued. Feng Jicai, chairman of the Chinese Folklore Association, praised Wuqiang New Year Pictures after his inspection: 'It should be said that all New Year pictures are good, but Wuqiang is the best in the world.'

Hengshui Anji Bridge Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in May)
Hengshui Anji Bridge
Also known as Hengshui Stone Bridge or Hengshui Old Bridge, it is located on Shengli East Road, Taocheng District, Hengshui City, Hebei Province, spanning the Fuyang River from east to west. It was built in the 31st year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1766).
The Hengshui Anji Bridge spans the Fuyang River from east to west. It is a seven-hole continuous arch stone bridge, 116 meters long and 7.5 meters wide. Each hole spans 10 meters. The bridge body originally had 58 stone pillars topped with stone lions on both sides; there are 57 stone railings carved with a combination of cloud patterns and rectangular patterns with concave corners.
In a certain sense, the Hengshui Anji Bridge is a symbol of Hengshui's 'historical memory' and a 'chain of urban cultural development'. The protection of the Hengshui Anji Bridge is a respect and inheritance of historical culture.
In 2013, the Hengshui Anji Bridge was announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as the seventh batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

Visit the ancient town of Lüli by the Hengshui Lake
During the May Day holiday, I came to Hengshui, Hebei with good friends, first visited the Hengshui Lake Wetland Park, and then arrived at the ancient town of Lüli on the east side of Hengshui Lake. It is located between Taocheng District and Jizhou District of Hengshui City, about ten kilometers south of Hengshui city center. Lüli ancient town is newly built in reference to the ancient architectural style, taking Sun Jing, a local Confucian scholar of Hengshui, as a model, continuing his spirit of 'diligent study and valuing education', aiming to inherit history and shape a distinctive cultural soul. It has been honored as one of the top ten research bases in Hebei Province that 'must be visited' and the Hebei Province Ecological Environment Education Base. Inside, there are many courtyards, including schools, inns, homestays, and so on.
