Classic British Afternoon Tea at Salisterra

Thank you to my friend for inviting me to afternoon tea at the end of June! I was so happy to finally visit the restaurant I've been wanting to go to for a long time! The location is Salisterra, situated on the top floor of The Upper House in Pacific Place. The Mediterranean-inspired decor, paired with the floor-to-ceiling windows that let in plenty of light, offers a stunning view of the bustling city. The ambiance is incredibly chill, making it the perfect spot for afternoon tea. We were lucky enough to be seated at a beautiful corner spot. Regardless of the taste, this afternoon tea was already very appealing to me. The theme we enjoyed was the SALISTERRA X HOTEL CAFÉ ROYAL Classic British Afternoon Tea! It consisted of appetizers, a selection of sandwiches, English scones, and desserts. The presentation was straightforward, embodying the essence of a classic afternoon tea. The weather was extremely hot, so we ordered a special drink to cool down before enjoying the hot tea! We started with the Amuse-Bouche, a fragrant Truffle gougère! The crispy and flaky puff pastry, infused with the aroma of black truffle and topped with cheese, was a delight to the taste buds. The savory selection included various sandwiches! These featured flavors like smoked salmon with dill and cucumber, coronation chicken, truffle egg mayo, and roast beef with horseradish. The fillings and flavors were quite good, but the bread was a bit too dry, which was a slight disappointment. Scones are a crucial part of a British afternoon tea! The raisin scones here had a good balance of moisture and dryness, and they tasted delicious with clotted cream and jam. Next, we had a refreshing Raspberry Elderflower Sorbet as a palate cleanser! The tartness of the raspberry combined with the floral notes of elderflower created a delightful flavor, and pairing it with vanilla shortbread added a richer texture. For desserts, we enjoyed a pear and yuzu vanilla tart, a smooth vanilla cream strawberry jam cake, a rich raspberry rum cake, and my favorite, the decadent chocolate éclair. Satisfied with our sweet cravings, we noticed a tranquil space across the restaurant as we were leaving, which suddenly sparked my desire for a staycation. The afternoon tea set is priced at $680 for two from Monday to Thursday, and $718 for two on weekends and public holidays. Although the theme has changed, the environment here is absolutely refreshing, and the staff's attentive service makes it highly recommended for enjoying the beautiful scenery and excellent service.
