The first stop was the Hong Kong statutory monument - the Islamic Mosque on Hong Kong Island. Hidden in the bustling SOHO area of ​​Central is a precious treasure with a century-old history - Jamia Mosque! Built in 1849, this mosque is the first and one of the most historically valuable mosques in Hong Kong. 🍃 The exterior walls of the mosque are painted in a light mint green color with ancient architectural style. It was listed as a statutory monument and a Grade I historical building in 2022, highlighting its importance. Every Sunday afternoon, believers are happy to serve as volunteer guides to allow tourists to gain a deeper understanding of Islamic culture and the development history of the Muslim community in Hong Kong.
