Hiking in Mount Davis. Exploring military relics | Bravely entering the haunted zone. People with supernatural powers should not go there!

Mount Davis is located on a small hill at the western end of Hong Kong Island, 260 meters above sea level. It is located south of Kennedy Town and north of Pok Fu Lam, close to Green Island and Little Green Island, separated by the Sulphur Channel. There are many military relics left over from the Second World War. From the mountain, you can enjoy the sea view and sunset to the west of Hong Kong Island. The view is very beautiful. In addition to seeing the big and small Qingzhou across the Sulphur Channel, you can also see many outlying islands, including: Lamma Island, Cheung Chau, Hei Ling Chau, Chow Kung Island, Ping Chau and Lantau Island, etc.! Mount Davis Fort was established in the early 20th century and is the headquarters of the Hong Kong Island West Firing Command. In the mid-1930s, two of the fort's 9.2-inch guns were moved to Stanley to strengthen the defence of southern Hong Kong Island. When the Japanese army attacked Hong Kong in 1941, the fort was heavily bombarded and the defenders destroyed the fort's military facilities before surrendering. The current fort ruins consist of five groups of artillery positions, the Hong Kong Island West Fire Command Headquarters, a powder magazine and barracks. The battery has now been rated as a Grade II historic building. This time, the hike to Mount Davis was mainly to visit military relics and enjoy the mountain scenery. The whole journey took about 3 hours to complete! Small thoughts: The remains of the Mount Davis Fort are mainly distributed in various places on the top of the mountain. They are relatively fragmented and hidden, and need to be carefully found and excavated. Usually there is a small path leading to a site. It feels like an adventure, but it also feels like you will get lost! Personally, I feel that the military ruins at Mount Davis have a sense of mystery and adventure. The places where the sun doesn’t shine are indeed chilling. It seems that the “haunted zone” and “one of the top ten haunted places in Hong Kong” are not in vain!
