There is a good place for young people to go~ The Urban Renewal Authority has revitalized No. 600~626 Shanghai Street in Mong Kok (a total of 14 tenement buildings) into "618 Shanghai Street". This century-old revitalized shopping mall is home to many local specialty shops, including Meihua's Vintage Clothing, Cultural House Grocery Store, Changchang Collection, Heidi, REstore Individual Store Cultural Preservation, Su Ma. Su Ma Malaysian Coffee Shop, etc. The Urban Renewal Authority launched the Shanghai Street Conservation and Revitalisation Project in 2008. The project involves 14 old and new tenement buildings, 10 of which are pre-war arcade-style tenement buildings built in the 1920s, *classified as Grade II historical buildings*, and 4 post-war buildings built in the 1960s. "618 Shanghai Street" finally retained 10 pre-war tenement buildings, the 13 granite columns supporting the entire row of arcades, the advertising signs on the granite columns and other elements of great historical value. Moreover, these historical traces were not erased during the reconstruction of these stone columns; it absolutely presents the original scenes of the past to everyone. In addition to preserving the architectural features, the mall also invited local artists to add murals of Shanghai Street’s past appearance, adding a modern touch to this historic building.
