#Hong Kong beautiful scene check-in spot Yuk Hui Temple, also known as Pak Tai Temple, is located on Lung On Street in Wan Chai, Hong Kong. It is a statutory monument built in the first year of the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1862) and completed in 1863, more than 160 years ago. It is about a 5-minute walk from Exit A3 of Wan Chai MTR Station. The temple is dedicated to Beidi (Zhenwu Emperor), the northern water god who blesses peace and eliminates disasters. The temple adopts the folk architectural style of the Qing Dynasty, with a two-in-three-bay structure and built with blue bricks and granite. The plaque "Yuxu Palace" on the main gate was inscribed by Zhang Yutang, a deputy general in the Qing Dynasty. The main hall enshrines a bronze statue of Beidi cast in the 31st year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty (1603). Next to it are the Dragon Mother Hall and the Three Treasures Hall, which enshrine Bao Gong, Lu Zu and other gods. The Shiwan pottery decorations add to its artistic value. Every year on the third day of the third lunar month, the Pak Tai birthday is celebrated and the temple is bustling with incense and devotees. Yuxu Temple is not only a religious center, but also a landmark of the early Wan Chai community. It once housed a charity school and a community hall. In the 1920s and 1930s, the Confucius Society ran a school here. The exterior wall is simple and the couplet in front of the door, "The mysterious palace is opened up for thousands of years and its power and influence spread to foreign lands", is magnificent and suitable for taking retro photos, especially during the Mid-Autumn Festival lanterns or the birthday of Beidi.
