A nostalgic Japanese specialty tonkotsu broth ramen shop As a ramen lover, I recently came across this new shop on a ramen fan page. Since it's near Mong Kok, I decided to give it a try. It wasn't crowded during afternoon tea time, the service was incredibly fast, and the staff were excellent. The ambiance is truly nostalgic, with murals and masks adorning the walls—the kind of ornaments you'd only see in Japanese ramen shops. Quite thoughtful, haha! Specialty Ramen Pork bone broth, grilled char siu, 1.5-ounce char siu, seasoned egg, seaweed, and bamboo shoots The broth: The pork bone flavor is strong, and the calorie count is definitely doubled after finishing it. The combination with the chewy noodles is a perfect match. Char siu: The grilled char siu is generously thick and has a rich, charred aroma, while the 1.5-ounce regular char siu is even better, perfectly tender and full of pork flavor. Other toppings: The perfectly flavored soft-boiled egg and refreshing bamboo shoots are even better than the char siu! Fried Octopus Balls with Salad Sauce & Peach Soda The fried octopus balls are already coated in char siu sauce. If you prefer salad sauce, you can add a small amount. Each ball contains a small piece of octopus. Japanese peach soda is, of course, packed with sugar!
