A Cherry Blossom Spot Surrounded by Skyscrapers---Rokkakudo

Located in the bustling commercial area of Shijo Karasuma in Kyoto, there is a small shrine tucked away in an alley---Rokkakudo. It is filled with tourists from all over, drawn by the unique weeping cherry tree "Miyuki Sakura." Blooming earlier than the Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms, its flowers start as white but turn a deep pink when in full bloom, creating a stunning sight. The name "Rokkaku" refers to the six human desires: eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind. Rokkakudo is known as a spiritual spot for prayers for health and love. Though the grounds of Rokkakudo are not large, for those looking to capture the perfect photo, you can head to the nearby Starbucks. From its large transparent windows, you can enjoy a full view of Rokkakudo's cherry blossoms.
