Tate Museum

Tate Modern is the jewel in the crown of modern art galleries in London. It holds the nation's collection of modern art from 1900 to the present day. With 5.7 million visitors it is in the top ten most visited museums and galleries in the world. The collection holds masterpieces of international and British modern art. Entry to the gallery is free – there's no need to book. Booking a ticket is recommended for exhibitions but some tickets may be available at the door. Members enjoy unlimited free entry to exhibitions with no need to book. As with most of London's tourist attractions, there's no bad time to visit Tate Modern. If you're looking for large-scale art projects, a visit between October and March (the months in which Turbine Hall hosts installations) would be best!
