Want to start an awesome self-driving day trip to a natural scenic area? Then join me on an adventure to Yuntai Mountain! In the morning, we happily depart from Ruilai Yuelv Hotel (Luoyang Railway Station subway station location) and easily arrive at Anshang Service Area after just 2 hours. The parking lot costs only 10 yuan for the whole day—super economical! Morning itinerary: Xiaozhaigou Route - Quanpu Gorge Having visited Red Stone Gorge before and considering the morning crowds, I decisively chose the Xiaozhaigou route this time, heading straight to Quanpu Gorge. Entering the gorge and walking along the path, you're first greeted by a babbling stream so clear you can see the stones and water plants at the bottom. As you continue forward, you'll hear the increasingly loud roar of rushing water. When you reach the bottom of the waterfall, its magnificent power will absolutely amaze you! A huge curtain of water cascades down from above, splashing and creating beautiful rainbows in the sunlight. Travel tip: Remember to bring a raincoat, or you'll easily get wet from the waterfall spray. When taking photos near the waterfall, find a good angle using the rainbow and waterfall as background to capture spectacular shots. Afternoon itinerary: Climbing Juyu Peak In the afternoon, the real challenge begins—climbing Juyu Peak! Since we're focusing on the hiking experience, we'll skip the cable car and climb to the summit using our own strength. Starting from the foot of the mountain, follow the winding path with lush green trees providing shade. The air is fresh and rich in negative ions—every breath feels invigorating. During the climb, you'll pass several viewing platforms where you can pause to admire the magnificent scenery. The distant mountains stretch endlessly, shrouded in clouds and mist, like a traditional Chinese ink painting. The slope gets steeper as you climb higher, but don't give up easily. When you finally reach the top of Juyu Peak, you'll feel the pride described in the poem: "Standing at the highest peak, all mountains seem small." Looking down from the summit, all your fatigue simply vanishes. Travel tip: Be sure to wear comfortable athletic shoes and bring enough water and energy-boosting snacks. Pace yourself during the climb—don't sprint at the beginning. By 6 o'clock, we successfully descend and take the scenic area shuttle back to Anshang Service Area.
