Ancient fortress and stunning view

#cityplaybook #tbilisi #georgia #mtskheta Visiting Bebristsikhe Fortress was one of those unplanned detours that made the day more interesting. After seeing the main sights in Mtskheta, I noticed the fortress on the hill and thought – why not? The walk up takes about 20 minutes from Samtavro Convent. It's not too steep, but wear decent shoes – the path is uneven in spots. What you get is basically some old stone walls and towers, but the real prize is the view. You can see all of Mtskheta spread out below – Svetitskhoveli Cathedral looks tiny from up there, with the mountains framing everything. It's peaceful compared to the crowded main sights, I was alone there. The fortress itself isn't restored or fancy – just weathered ruins with some info signs in Georgian. But that kinda adds to the charm. Bring water if it's hot – there's no shade up there.
