Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Hall

The Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Hall was formerly the Jiangxi Grand Hotel. Built in 1924, it is a five-story gray building with 96 rooms. In late July 1927, the troops participating in the uprising rented the hotel and held a meeting in the "Xiqing Hall" to establish the Front Enemy Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) with Zhou Enlai as its secretary. On August 1, the CPC launched the Nanchang Uprising, and subsequently held several meetings here, making it the command center for leading the uprising.
