The ferry ride around Sun Moon Lake was a serene journey that showcased the beauty of Taiwan's natural landscapes. Boarding the boat, I was greeted by the gentle breeze and panoramic views of the surrounding mountains mirrored in azure blue waters. The rhythmic hum of the engine was like a soothing soundtrack that played in the background as we glided across the lake. We saw charming villages and lush forests along the shoreline. Each time the boat turned behind a peninsula, new vistas were revealed - from the iconic Lalu Island to the picturesque temples nestled amidst verdant hills. It was a peaceful escape, a contrast from the the hustle and bustle of Taipei City. One of the prettiest lakes in Asia

Taiwan is brimming with incredible natural scenery yet few locations captivate the tourist masses quite like Sun Moon Lake. Interestingly, the lake as it is today is actually man-made, formed as a result of the dam constructed during Japanese rule in 1931. However, regardless of the fact that it is a relatively new landscape, the area is home to the Thao tribe and as such there are many myths and legends relating to the mountains surrounding the lake. If you’re heading for Sun Moon Lake, then the best way is by bus or by car. There are many private tour companies that run buses from both Taichung and Taipei to the lake and some even include hotel accommodation in their tour package. However, a car of your own or a rental is a far more enjoyable way to get there as you’re not bound by schedules. There’s plenty of paid public parking around the lake and most hotels provide on-site private parking.

Qing Jing Farm at Taichung

Qing Jing Farm about 2 hours from Taichung City by taxi. Bought our tickets at entrance and senior citizens tickets are available. Remember to stamp your hand at the entrance as a proof of valid entry. Temperature here is nice, around 19 degrees celsius. You can start to enjoy the mountain view with a lots sheep. You also can touch and take pictures with the sheep. There are shows available at 2:30pm and 3:45pm, do not miss it, the staff will announce the show time when you walk around the farm. Well-known Qingjing Farm in Taiwan

Most of us here must have already heard or went to the Qingjing farm which is located at Nantou County! There are several ways to get to the Qingjing Farm depending on which mode you would prefer. We went there by taking car from Taichung City and took us 1.5h or slightly longer to get there due to many coaches on the mountain road. Another way to get there would be to take their public bus known as ‘南头客运’. It’ll be a direct bus up to Qingjing Farm and it is less costly compared to taking car or taxi. The Mountain View is extremely beautiful and you get to see many cute sheep roaming around freely! We are allowed to buy the sheep’s food which is a pack of grass and feed them but do take note that, some of them might get a little excited when they see food. Qingjing Farm

Very relaxing walk. The sheep will go to anyone with food, so it is not difficult to feed them and take pictures with them. But be careful some sheep will snatch the bag from you hand! The area is very beautiful and was a nice walk. Although there is a need to be cautious when walking, as there is a lot of goat poop along the trail and on the grass. We tried the goat's milk ice cream and found it refreshing as it had a unique taste and nice texture, although slightly costly.

Qingjing Farm - Nantou 🐑

Qingjing Farm is a high mountain farm in Nantou County 🐑🏔️ It features magnificent mountain scenery, sheep and cows petting zoo, and also horseman show. Getting there: 🚗 From Taichung, take the Ubus/Nantou Shuttle Bus to Qingjing. It will take you around 2hr arriving in Qingjing farm. The most convenient way is to use your own car or rental a car. Attraction: 🐑✨ Who doesn’t love the cute sheep~ The main attraction of this farm, is their sheep. You can also enjoy beautiful scenery and cherry blossom during spring time.
