Spring in Jiangnan

Ningbo Dongqian Lake ~ Hanling Ancient Village Hanling Ancient Village is about 20 km east of Ningbo city. The village's economy is mainly based on traditional agriculture. It is now an important attraction on the Dongqian Lake loop. Hanling Ancient Village is surrounded by mountains on three sides and faces the lake on one side. Inside the village, small streams surround ancient dwellings, old bridges, stone paths, white walls and gray tiles, and red-lacquered shops, creating a typical Jiangnan-style village. There is a Mantou shop on the old street that steams and sells them fresh, and there are often lines to buy them. You can smell the faint aroma of fermented rice as you approach the shop. Jiangnan has interconnected rivers and canals, is close to the sea, and has many lakes and marshes. The ancient villages built alongside the lakes enjoy humid air. In March, walking along the waterways, there is an indescribable sense of leisure, and even more so, the poetic charm of a Jiangnan water town, Hanling Old Street.
