[Tochigi Kurobane Castle Ruins Park]

#FuritabiWinter Located in Otawara City, this castle was built by Ozeki Takamasu in 1575, and is the largest in northern Nasu. In the Battle of Sekigahara, Ozeki Takamasu sided with the Eastern Army, and was granted an additional stipend by Tokugawa Ieyasu, making him a feudal lord with 18,000 koku of rice. The current castle ruins, including the earthworks, dry moats, and water moats, are preserved, and traces of the time remain. From the remains of the main citadel, you can see the Nasu and Nikko mountain ranges in one view, with the Nakagawa River flowing below. In April, there is a cherry blossom festival, and from late June to early July, 6,000 hydrangeas bloom, so you can enjoy seasonal flowers.
