Petra’s Roman Road

Despite Petra being famous for the fantastic architecture of its original inhabitants, the Nabataean people, the Romans once they arrived had their influence on the once vast desert city. Known as the Colonnaded Street the once grand thoroughfare was adorned with metres high columns, some of which still stand today. During the era this would have been a hive of activity as the sites many shopping street. #aprilblooms #romans #petra
