People generally call it the pagoda in the middle of the water because the area where Phra Samut Chedi was originally built was an island surrounded by water. Inside the temple, there is the Buddha image in the posture of calming the ocean and the Buddha image of Chaiwat, which are the Buddha images of the temple for Buddhists to worship. At the back is a wide area for sitting and enjoying the view of the water. 📸 King Phutthaloetla Naphalai ordered the construction of this pagoda, but before it was finished, his reign ended. King Nangklao ordered the construction of a 20-meter-high pagoda. Later, in the reign of King Rama IV, he ordered the pagoda to be reshaped and made 38 meters taller.
