Regent Phu Quoc Hotel is pleased to announce the grand opening of a new art exhibition, Chasing Dreams – A Journey to Neverland. This fascinating celebration of contemporary Vietnamese art will bring together exquisite lacquer sculptures by Lamphong Studio and soft silk paintings by Nguyễn Minh Quân, weaving together a unique artistic dialogue. The exhibition opens at the Wells Fargo Regent Gallery on April 9, 2025 and will run until September 2025. "Chasing Dreams: A Journey to Neverland" is curated by the famous Vietnamese art curator Chu Kim. It aims to lead the audience on a fantasy journey beyond reality and open up new dimensions of senses and thoughts with visual art. The "Dream Island" in the exhibition theme refers to Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam, a place famous for its magnificent natural scenery and diverse cultural experiences. The “journey” not only symbolizes the exploration of the real world, but also inspires the viewer to take a deep spiritual journey - to feel the charm of the intersection of beauty and surrealism in the flow of light and shadow in art. Here, art is not only a reflection of reality, but also a bridge to dreams. The process of visiting the exhibition is not just about thinking, but also an awakening of consciousness. When visitors step into the exhibition space, they will start a deep inner dialogue, wandering between reality and illusion, familiarity and the unknown, and feeling the touch of their souls in the rhythm of art. Curator Chu Kim shared: “This is not only an exploration of the real landscape, but also a journey into the depths of thought and emotion. The exhibition presents a tense artistic dialogue - Vietnamese lacquer sculptures and silk paintings blend with each other, and two-dimensional paintings and three-dimensional sculptures resonate with the same breath of fantasy. Their lacquer sculptures carry the budding of dreams, presenting a familiar yet surreal art world with exquisite craftsmanship. • Nguyễn Minh Quân: A graduate of Vietnam University of Fine Arts, his silk paintings explore the nature of beauty and capture the fragile moment between the birth and death of life. His works are like a window to thinking, allowing viewers to contemplate the temporality and eternity of beauty in an immersive artistic atmosphere. About the Curator Chu Kim is an architect and independent art researcher who has written a trilogy of essays on Vietnamese comics and has been involved in several major cultural projects. His curatorial philosophy focuses on the integration of different art forms and the intersection of art and culture. He co-directs art exhibitions at Art Republik, Vietnam’s leading bilingual (English-Vietnamese) international high-end art and culture magazine.
