The Lubomirski Summer Palace in Rzeszów

The Lubomirski Summer Palace in Rzeszów - a historic, late Baroque residence with Rococo elements, located at Lubomirski Avenue in Rzeszów, near the castle. It was established in the 1690s on the site of the former vineyard of Mikołaj Spytek Ligęza, as part of a larger complex aimed at creating a large garden complex around the castle residence. The building was probably designed by Tylman van Gameren. It was expanded in the mid-18th century during the reign of Hieronim August Lubomirski, when Karol Wiedemann was the court architect. As a result, the palace acquired the form of a maison de plaisance, which was fashionable at that time. In its surroundings there was a vast garden with an orangery, a menagerie and a gazebo in the Chinese style. The last Lubomirski who owned the palace was Franciszek, who decides to sell it. In 1904 it was rebuilt, and in the years 1981–1985 it was thoroughly restored. In July 2013, the property was regained by the last private owners - the Nieci family, who put the palace up for sale. The building was purchased by the District Medical Chamber in Rzeszów. Ultimately, it is to become the seat of the chamber. #poland #polandtravel #rzeszow #museum
