Death Railway

The Death Railway was built during World War II using the labor of Allied POWs and Asian laborers conscripted by the Japanese army to build a strategic route through Burma. Currently, the route ends at Ban Tha Sao or Namtok Station, a distance of approximately 77 kilometers from Kanchanaburi Station to Namtok Station. "If you count the number of railroad ties, the number of people and POWs conscripted to build this railway line will die." This is the story of the historical Thai-Burma railway route, a distance of over 415 kilometers. It is the cruelty, brutality, and hardship that the POWs endured, which led to its nickname, the "Death Railway."
