Oia, Santorini, Greece

This trip to Greece 🇬🇷 took us to three islands, including Mykonos and Naxos. Of course, Santorini is a must-see! Personally, I think if you haven't been to Santorini, you haven't really been to Greece. Santorini has two main towns: Oia and Fira. This post will introduce Oia first. Santorini is a volcanic island 🌋, with whitewashed houses nestled against the mountainside, dotted with blue-domed churches. Oia is a popular spot for sunset viewing 🌇 and photo opportunities, attracting many wedding photographers. Oia doesn't have many attractions, but here are some: Ammoudi Bay This is Oia's former port. The path down is steep and slippery, and donkeys pass by along the way, leaving a lot of poop behind, so be careful. After the arduous walk to the port, reward yourself with a glass of gelato 🍨 at Cool Cave before heading back up the mountain. Oia Sunset Spot Arguably the best place in all of Oia to capture the sunset. Blue Domed Church Santorini A famous card-taking spot, where you'll have to queue for cards. Church of Panagia Akathistos Hymn It's not a particularly attractive church, but the square in front of it is the starting point for many tour groups. Holy Church of Agios Georgios Oia A church built in the 19th century. Nomikou Street The street is filled with restaurants 🍴, souvenir shops, and more. I bought a small blue and white church here as a souvenir. In addition to the above attractions, we also recommend going to Lolita's Gelato 🍨 for ice cream.
