The closest forest secret to Shanghai

🙈 I really had no interest in Chongming before, until one day I accidentally came across a post and was instantly attracted by the vast forest. So, I decisively picked a weekend and went for it! 😫 We set off on Friday night, and the traffic was terrible. We left at 7 PM and didn't arrive at the hotel until almost 10 PM. We stayed at Yiqinyuan, which offers many types of rooms to choose from. Although the interior decoration is a bit outdated, it is still clean and tidy. A reminder, if you plan to have breakfast, make sure to leave enough time for the shuttle bus. We took too long and missed it 😔 🥘 There are many farmhouses around. We went to the top-rated Yaoyao Eat, and there was plenty of parking space. The food was really good, but I suggest not ordering too much, or you'll have to pack the leftovers. 🌳 Dongping Forest Park is amazing. An afternoon is more than enough to enjoy it. There are shuttle buses at each stop, and there aren't many people, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll and to fully enjoy the beauty of nature. 🤗 Personally, I think Chongming Island is perfect for a spontaneous weekend trip. I also really liked the hotel and will definitely come back next time! I really love this forest!
