This Xinhua Bookstore is a little different

❤️ I finally visited this bookstore that has been in my favorites for a long time. I didn't expect it to be a Xinhua Bookstore. 🏠 The bookstore was renovated from the Guan's Residence, which was built in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China. The renovation was done in a way that preserved the original style. All the latticework in the old house was joined with mortise and tenon joints, without a single nail. The carvings were all made on site by master craftsmen. All the wooden pillars, floor tiles, and small green tiles on the roof were laid using ancient methods. The paint was applied using the open flame carbon burning method. During the renovation, carved beams and columns from the Ming Dynasty were discovered. The "Shenxiu Stele" that has been preserved to this day makes people think of the grandeur of the scholarly family back then. ✏️ The bookstore's evocative name also reflects the local characteristics of Sijing. "Nancun" is derived from the "Nancun Chuo Geng Lu" written by the great scholar Tao Zongyi, who lived in Sijing during the Yuan Dynasty. "Yingxue" is derived from the "Yingxue Zhai" study of Sun Daoming, a book collector in Sijing during the Yuan Dynasty. 📕 The entrance is small, but the inside is spacious. The bookstore has two courtyards and a patio, and is very deep. There are books, cultural and creative products, and coffee. There are few people, so you can enjoy a cup of coffee and read a book in comfort. ☘️ The layout is also very thoughtful.
