Longhua Temple is the oldest and largest ancient temple in Shanghai. It is 194 meters long along the central axis, with six halls arranged in sequence: the Maitreya Hall, the Hall of Heavenly Kings, the Mahavira Hall, the Hall of Three Saints, the Abbot's Room, and the Sutra Library. During the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty (1403–1424), the original name "Longhua Temple" was restored. In the second year of the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1574), it was given the name "Daxingguo Wanshou Cihua Zen Temple", but the name Longhua Temple was still used.
