This temple is one of the most renowned and oldest Buddhist temples in Shanghai, established in 1882 by a Chinese monk who returned from India via Myanmar. He brought back two exquisite white jade Buddha statues from Myanmar to enshrine here. The highlight of the temple is the large white jade Buddha statue, standing approximately 1.9 meters tall. This beautifully carved statue, made from a single block of jade, depicts the Buddha in a meditative seated posture. Another notable feature is the smaller reclining Buddha statue, which is equally stunning. The temple showcases traditional Chinese architecture and offers a serene and shaded atmosphere filled with a sense of devotion.
