A Great Place for Brunch Hounds

Looking for a place for your next weekend brunch? Head to Anfu Road’s RAC Bar for a casual atmosphere and a menu full of the greatest hits. With long, shared wooden tables, the restaurant feels cozy and communal. Spaces fill up quickly in the late morning, especially on the weekends. There might be a short wait before you get a seat. When it comes to food, it’d hard to go wrong with anything on the menu. One of the standouts is the avocado toast. A morning staple that took the brunch scene by storm a few years ago, the version served at RAC still hits the spot every time. Here, carefully toasted bread is topped with a mountain of fresh avocado and an egg with bright yellow yolk. The size of the dish is generous and it fills up the whole plate. RAC also serves up typical French favorites, including savory galette. The egg, mushroom, and smoked meat galette goes particularly well with a hot flat white. You’ll also find sandwiches, crepes (we recommend the lemon one), and vegetarian options. For a light bite to eat or brunch with friends, RAC Bar should be your go-to. Liquid Laundry

🗓️ Today's recommendation is Liquid Laundry: A famous 📸 American-style restaurant in Shanghai The interior has a sort of modern industrial design with a steampunk style. The day’s sunshine 🌤️ was the perfect complement to a delicious brunch. Here are some must-try dishes: 🍳 Eggs Benedict with Smoked Beef Brisket -- This is a Liquid Laundry signature dish and a staple of American brunch. The brisket was tender and moist with just the right amount of flavor. This dish is only available on the weekend. 🥞 Lox Potato Pancake -- At first you might wonder if they forgot the pancake, which comes hidden under a sizable portion of delicious lox topped with pickle garnish, an egg, and dollop of caviar. The potato pancake struck the right balance between crunchy outside and tender inside. This dish is also only available on the weekend. 🥗 Fancy Nicoise Salad -- The salad is a mix of greens and other vegetables and served with seared tuna in a lemon tarragon-Dijon dressing. Personally the searing on the tuna was a bit overdone. The taste is refreshing, but watch out if you don’t like a lot of dressing. 🍓 Strawberry Waffle -- Another Liquid Laundry signature dish, this was a sweet sweet ending to a good meal. The waffle was crisp and tender, and the strawberries were fresh. It’s a good choice for dessert. 🍸 Service -- The menu design is rather iconic with an old-timey washboard on the back. The wait staff were spread a bit thin though, and it was sometimes hard to get their attention for refills on drinks or to order more food. 💳Price -- About 150 RMB per person. 📍 Address -- 2/F, KWah Centre, 1028 Huaihai Zhong Lu, near Donghu Lu, Xuhui District (淮海中路1028号嘉华坊2楼, 近东湖路) 🚇 Transportation -- Metro Line 7 to Changshu Road Station, exit 6. Or Line 12 to Shanxi South Road Station, exit 7. #shanghaistyle #shanghaichic #foodieheaven #deliciousfood #lightthecity #urbanexplorer
