Tiger Leaping Gorge is one of the deepest canyons in China, located at the junction of Lijiang City and Shangri-La City, Yunnan Province, spanning between Yulong Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain. The gorge is 23 kilometers long and is famous for its stunning, unique, and dangerous scenery. It is known as one of the "Top Ten Most Beautiful Canyons in China" and "One of the Deepest Canyons in the World". Tiger Leaping Gorge has natural wonders such as Upper Tiger Leaping, Middle Tiger Leaping, Lower Tiger Leaping, and Tiger Leaping Stone. Among them, Middle Tiger Leaping is densely covered with reefs, and the cliffs on both sides stand tall, known as the "World Wonder". There are multiple hiking trails, known as one of the "Top Ten Classic Hiking Trails in the World". Recommended hiking trails: 1. Gaolu Hiking Trail (suitable for 2-day itinerary): • Day 1: Start from the Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area Ticket Office, pass through Zhongnuo Naxi Yage (about 2 hours), 28 Bends (about 1.5 hours), and arrive at Chamakhak Inn (about 2 hours). Then go to HALF WAY (2.5 hours), TINAS (about 2 hours), Tianshan Inn (about 5 minutes), and Guodao Walnut Garden (about 20 minutes). • Day 2: Start from Tianshan Inn and go to Middle Tiger Leaping (round trip about 2-3 hours), or from Guodao Walnut Garden to Middle Tiger Leaping (round trip about 2.5-3 hours). 2. Regular Hiking Trail (suitable for 1-day itinerary): • Start from the Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area Ticket Office, take a car to Zhang Laoshi Inn, then walk through Zhang Laoshi Trail to Middle Tiger Leaping, and then return to Zhang Laoshi Inn via Tianshan Trail (round trip about 4 hours). Precautions: • The road is dangerous, so you must pay full attention. • Not suitable for hiking in rainy or snowy weather, as there is a risk of landslides and falling rocks. • Remember not to eat too much before hiking, as it can cause dizziness. • Pack light, don't carry too much luggage, heavy luggage is completely unnecessary.
