Time Traveler, a bookstore filled with travel stories

No. 03, 1st Floor, Building D, COFCO 031 Creative Park, No. 138, Xin'an 2nd Road, Bao'an District (north side of the park's main entrance) Mingchang Time Traveler is a cultural and creative bookstore with a travel theme. It was once named the most beautiful bookstore in Shenzhen in 2020. Fortunately, I have visited and shared. The bookstore has a special corner displaying various local souvenirs that the founder brought back from his travels. The interesting thing about these souvenirs is that for some people who have traveled to the same destination, they can instantly bring back people's memories of their travel experiences in the local area. And for someone like me who has very little travel experience, I am more and more yearning for traveling. The female clerks at Mingchang Bookstore are the most humane and enthusiastic clerks I have ever met in all the bookstores I have visited, no doubt about it. When I was browsing the bookstore, they would come over to introduce books to me, they would communicate with other visitors, they would debug new products and exchange opinions at the bar, and they would work with their laptops in the customer seating area. It was raining that day and I didn’t bring an umbrella. When I left, the young lady told me to give her umbrella to me and bring it back when I had time. In the end, because I lived quite far away and didn’t know when I would be free to come, I borrowed the young lady’s umbrella and went to buy an umbrella. This is the case in most of the bookstores Mingchang has visited. The clerks were preparing drinks for customers and checking out people who were buying books. The customers in the bookstore were also busy reading. They were strangers to each other but seemed to have such a tacit understanding. So all along, when I visited a bookstore, I would go quietly and read quietly. Then leave quietly. Everything seems so conventional and logical. But this visit to the bookstore gave me a different experience. I like connecting with people, and I also like exploring bookstores, but this is the first time I have encountered and connected with people in a bookstore. The feeling is wonderful. It is no longer like an assembly line, but has a touch of warmth that I have not expected. This temperature makes me feel that the trip is worthwhile. Mingchang also made me rethink what I was looking for when I visited bookstores. Previously, I only described bookstores based on my own feelings. Did I really see through the essence and stories behind these bookstores? Should I make some changes next time I visit a bookstore to make my bookstore visit more heartwarming and meaningful?
