Sibu Short Trip

Attended a wedding in Sibu and was really humbled by the diversity of cultures in Malaysia. It was really different from how things are in the northern region of Penisular Malaysia. In the few hours break before the evening dinner, we took the opportunity to hunt down a few famous food: 1. Diang Bian Hu - almost like Klang famous Mee Hun Kueh, only this is made from rice flour and without the chewy texture of the dough slices. Love how flavourful the soup is 2. Guang Pia - I ordered a plain one, it tasted like a unsweetened bread. So, we ended up ordering two stuffed ones. They’re good. 3. Kampua Mee - I thought it tasted like the northern region Guan Loh Mee too Regardless, I was excited I finally step foot on the piece of land we call East Malaysia. We even had a piece of paper that we were to return to the immigration counters upon leaving, like we crossed border! 🤣🤣 #sibu
