Our Day at the Restored Chinese Garden: What’s New

#favouriteitinerary We finally visited the newly reopened Chinese Garden on Sunday, and it was a peaceful retreat from the city. The renovations have beautifully balanced tradition with modern design, creating a space that feels both timeless and refreshing. ### Cloud Pagoda The Cloud Pagoda was the first thing we saw, standing tall with intricate details that reflect classic Chinese architecture. While it isn’t open for entry yet, its striking presence alone made it a standout feature of the garden. ### Twin Pagodas We climbed the Twin Pagodas for a panoramic view of Jurong Lake and its surroundings. The spiral staircases were a bit of a climb, but the breeze and the scenery from the top made it well worth the effort. ### Stone Boat & Water Wall The restored Stone Boat sat elegantly on the water, looking like something out of a Chinese landscape painting. Nearby, the Water Wall Court had a calming atmosphere, with cascading water creating a cool, misty space that felt like a hidden retreat. ### Water Lily Garden & Sunken Forest The aquatic garden was filled with water lilies, their reflections adding to the tranquil setting. Deeper into the garden, the Sunken Forest was a lush, shaded sanctuary with epiphytes thriving in a beautifully curated landscape. ### By the Lake As the afternoon light softened, we sat by the lake, soaking in the quiet beauty of the space. The renewed Chinese Garden is a perfect blend of history, nature, and thoughtful design—definitely a place worth returning to.
