Wenling | A coastal city where the first light of the millennium rose

🌞"Under the gate, you can rest for a while. The water is flowing freely, and you can be content with hunger." Our destination this time is a place called "Notre Dame of the East". I first learned about this place from a CCTV report: The first ray of sunshine of the millennium shone in Shitang, Wenling. So, in order to see the sea, the mountains and the sunrise, we drove to Wenling. Vibrant Wenling ⛰️Changyu Dongtian Explore Changyu Dongtian, where the quarrying sites have formed a unique stone culture. Changyu got its name because of its winding and undulating Fengshan Mountains, which looks like a long and narrow island on the sea. It is said that it is a stone cultural landscape formed by artificial mining of slate since the Northern and Southern Dynasties. There are 28 cave groups and more than a thousand stone caves here. Numerous stone caves have formed stone wall corridors of various shapes and sizes. It has the only cave concert hall in Asia, which has magical nature-like sound effects without the use of any electro-acoustic equipment. It is known as "the best cave in the world". 🎒Fangshan Fangshan is located in the northwest of Wenling and is one of the eight scenic spots in Yanlong Mountain. The steep cliffs stand like a city, so it is named Fangcheng Mountain, also known as Fangshan. Fangshan is majestic and has layers of mountains. The surrounding stone cliffs are all over 100 meters high. There are Yangjiao Peak, Yangjiao Cave and Yunxiao Temple on the mountain. There are towering cliffs on all sides. I like this kind of mountain climbing, which is full of wildness and challenges. 🏖️Longmen Beach After climbing the mountain, go to the beach to watch the sea. Many people come to check in at the beach, infinity pool, glass plank road, colorful slide and circular glass observation deck. Longmen Beach is very different from what it was a few years ago. You don’t need to walk up a long flight of stairs, you can take the elevator directly to the beach. The most noteworthy thing is that the quality of the sand on the beach is particularly good. It is a perfect place to relax with your family and enjoy a leisurely holiday. ☀️Millennium Dawn Garden The Beijing Astronomical Observatory concluded that the first ray of light that reached the Chinese mainland in the millennium was projected over Shitang Town, Wenling City, Zhejiang Province at 6:46 am on January 1, 2000. The Millennium Dawn Garden was built in 2000. The standing Dawn Monument has always been the pride of the residents in the town. The two opposing monument pillars stand tall, like two doors to the new century, and like raised sails. It is known as the place where the dawn first shines and the Cape of Good Hope in the East China Sea. You must visit the Shitang Planetarium next to the Dawn Monument. Hidden beneath the unremarkable exterior of the building is the country's first county-level planetarium.
