I came to Gulangyu for this view—Linghai Old Villa Hotel

This is an old villa hotel on Gulangyu Island. A long time ago, I was attracted by its balconies facing the sea, and I always wanted to stay here for two nights. Sitting here feels like stepping into one of Eileen Chang's novels. I especially love the Nanyang-style buildings, complemented by the sound of the waves and the tall banyan trees unique to Southern Fujian. 🌟Excellent Location Linghai is located halfway up the hill from Gangzai Back Bathing Beach to Sunlight Rock. Walking down, you'll find the beach and the Piano Museum. A few dozen meters out the door and to the left is the entrance to Sunlight Rock. This location is truly blessed. You can enjoy afternoon tea and a midday nap at the hotel, and then enter Sunlight Rock half an hour before closing time, just in time to catch a beautiful sunset. 🌟Excellent Privacy Due to its elevated position, there's a short flight of steps from the main road to the hotel. Also, there are no restaurants open to the public here, so no tourists will come in to visit or dine. 🌟Amazing View The ocean-view rooms on the third floor all have large balconies with arched doors, offering stunning views of the distant sea—perfect for taking photos. In addition, several rooms have ocean-view terraces. There's a huge banyan tree in the courtyard. The combination of an old villa, a giant banyan tree, and an ocean-view balcony is probably unique on Gulangyu Island. Whether it's evening or early morning, sitting on the balcony and gazing at the sea is very therapeutic. You can also dine in the hotel's sunroom restaurant or the courtyard. The restaurant is also a beautiful spot for photos. 🌟Exceptional Service ❤Free luggage transportation from the pier. You can hand your luggage to the porter, who will deliver it directly to the hotel, leaving you free to explore. Upon your return, you can also contact the hotel to have the porter deliver your luggage to the pier for CNY 30 per suitcase.
