Hotel New Grand Yokohama

[About the rooms in the main building] I like hotels and old buildings, so I booked the main building again this time. At the time of booking, only standard rooms were available, but when I checked in, I was told that a deluxe room was available, so I upgraded for a fee. The TV was small, but the room was modern and charming, and from the window, I could see the typical Yokohama scenery of large passenger ships parked at Osanbashi Pier, Yamashita Park, the Bay Bridge, and Gundam, although the view was somewhat blocked by the street trees. However, considering that I used Le Normandie for breakfast, the Tower Building may be more enjoyable in terms of views than the main building on the lower floors. The best thing about the main building is that it is a historical building. We took a tour of the hotel, but it seems they also have an AR tour where you can use your smartphone to look at the guide. [Meals] Before dinner, we had a light drink at Bar Sea Guardian II. We had fish and chips from the takeaway menu at The Cafe that night, spaghetti Napolitana for lunch the next day, a Western set menu at Le Normandie for breakfast, and doria from room service. All were delicious and without exception. Personally, I liked doria the best. Both doria and spaghetti Napolitana are dishes that originated at this hotel, but as expected, carbohydrates and carbohydrates are too much for someone in their 50s. I also wanted to try the pudding a la mode, but I'll leave the consommé soup and pudding a la mode for next time. However, it seems that the New Grand system has been renewed recently, and I wonder if the staff is confused about the benefits for app members and JR Hotel members? There were a few moments where I thought that. For example, app members get a 5% discount when eating at restaurants, but when I asked at check-in, "Do app members or JR Hotel members get any benefits, such as discounts at restaurants?" the staff member replied, "No." I think that if guests knew in advance that there were discounts for app members, some would take advantage of them, but it's really difficult to understand, so I think it would be better if they could properly inform guests about this. The location is close to Chinatown, so it's good for going out, but I think it's a hotel where you can really enjoy yourself even if you just stay there.
