Yulin Hongshixia

The filming location of the movie 'Ashes of Time', the largest cliff inscription group in Shaanxi, with inscriptions left by the late Qing dignitary Zuo Zongtang. Hongshixia is located 3 kilometers north of Yulin City, Shaanxi Province, and only 5 kilometers from the Yulin city center. The canyon is about 350 meters long, with the east cliff standing about 11.5 meters high and the west cliff 13 meters high, facing each other in a steep and majestic manner. The Yuxi River flows through the canyon directly to the west of the city. In ancient times, literati, inkmen, and even military generals stationed in Yulin liked to inscribe on the cliffs of Hongshixia to express their bold aspirations and ambitions of the frontier, making Hongshixia a treasure trove of Great Wall calligraphy art. From the content of the inscriptions, one can see the status of Yulin as the 'Nine Frontier Towns' in ancient times. In addition, one can also appreciate the cave art from the Song and Yuan dynasties. On a sunny day, one can witness the splendor of 'Red Mountain Sunset': the scenery of Hongshixia under the sunset is as gorgeous as the evening clouds. It is one of the famous 'Eight Scenic Spots of Yulin'. Transportation: Indoor buses can come here, taking a taxi or Didi is not expensive. Tickets are 30, and the visiting time is 1 to 2 hours.
