18th century seminary building

Spain Westbound ~ Zamora (Region) This ancient Romanesque temple was rebuilt in the 16th century and consists of a nave and two interconnected double chapels. Notable features include the Gothic rib vaulting and the Baroque and Renaissance altarpieces that decorate its interior, such as the Altarpiece of San Andrés, the altarpiece of the Church of Sotelo, and, most importantly, the Tomb of Don Antonio Sotelo, a work made of alabaster created at the end of the 16th century by Pompeio Leoni, who invoked the dead through a series of religious decorations. Next to the San Andrés Church stands an 18th-century seminary building. #2024TravelReview #SpainTravel #Castile-León
