Nine-Dragon Cave

#jiulong Cave Jiulong Cave (九龙洞), also known as Nine-Dragon Cave, is a remarkable natural karst cave situated on Guanyin Mountain, approximately 17 kilometers east of Tongren City in Guizhou Province, China. Renowned for its vast chambers and intricate formations, the cave offers visitors a captivating experience of geological wonders and local folklore.  ⸻ 🌄 Key Highlights • Size & Structure: The cave spans about 2,284 meters in length and covers an area of approximately 80,000 square meters. It comprises seven grand halls, four of which are currently open to tourists. The cave’s width reaches up to 210 meters, with heights varying between 30 and 110 meters .  • Stalactites & Stalagmites: Jiulong Cave is adorned with diverse stalactites and stalagmites, including eight stone pillars over 30 meters tall, six over 20 meters, and eighteen over 10 meters. Notably, it houses a stone pillar standing at 44.71 meters, often referred to as the “world’s first pillar” .  • Legendary Origins: According to local legend, six yellow dragons invited three green dragons from the Jinjiang River to gather in the cave. Enchanted by its beauty, they chose to make it their home, giving rise to the name “Nine-Dragon Cave” .  • Scenic Beauty: The cave features various formations resembling stone waterfalls, pagodas, and mythical creatures.
