Traveling to Zentsuji in Takamatsu

🎏 Zentsuji, located at 3-3-1 Zentsujicho, Zentsuji City, Kagawa Prefecture, Japan, is a temple established by Kobo Daishi, the founder of the Shingon sect, upon his return from China in 807 at his birthplace. Along with Kyoto's To-ji and Koyasan in Wakayama Prefecture, it is one of the three great historical sites associated with Kobo Daishi. Additionally, it is the seventy-fifth location of the Shikoku Pilgrimage's eighty-eight sacred sites. The temple has a history of 1200 years and is part of the pilgrimage route, featuring a magnificent bell tower. The entire site is quite large, and the ancient camphor trees, some over a thousand years old, are also quite impressive. The Aoyama across from Zentsuji (see photos 11 and 12) is also a popular hiking spot.
