One of China's Top Ten Famous Temples: Longxing Temple in Zhengding

Longxing Temple was first built in the sixth year of the Kaihuang era of the Sui Dynasty (586 AD) and was personally decreed and constructed by Zhao Kuangyin, the founding emperor of the Song Dynasty. It was originally named Longzang Temple and was renamed Longxing Temple during the Tang Dynasty. In the 49th year of the Kangxi reign in the Qing Dynasty (1710), Emperor Kangxi bestowed the plaque "Imperially Built Longxing Temple." The "Six Wonders" of Longxing Temple refer to six precious cultural relics and buildings within the temple that are considered the best in the country, including: The inverted Guanyin statue (Image 1) and the colorful clay suspended mountain sculpture (Image 2), The Mani Hall (Image 3), The revolving sutra cabinet pavilion (Image 4) and the revolving sutra cabinet (Image 5), The Longzang Temple stele (Image 6), The bronze statue of the Thousand-Hand Thousand-Eye Guanyin (Image 7), and The bronze Vairocana Buddha (Image 8, located in the Pilu Hall - Image 9). There are many other notable cultural relics in Longxing Temple, such as: The clay and gold-plated statue of Buddha Shakyamuni in the Mani Hall (Image 10); The murals inside the Mani Hall (Images 11, 12); The precept platform and double-sided bronze Buddha statues (Images 13, 14, 15), and more.
