Strolling through the ancient city of Yue, where spring breezes have blown for two thousand years

📍I've previously visited many places in Zhuji like Xi Shi's hometown, Si Village, Wuxie, Caota, and Majian. This ancient city of Yue, which has remained intact since the Qin Dynasty, can only be described as "unfathomable." The Puyang River flows through the county town, connecting a series of bridges with diverse forms. ✅Must experience: From the hill where the museum is located, you can see the Zhuji Hilton and the Wenchang Pavilion on the opposite hilltop. The last wall of the exhibition hall displays Tongshan porcelain and Zhuji Yuehong pottery. ✅Must experience: The Wenchang Pavilion is newly built; the original pavilion was probably next to the Confucian Temple, but I don't know exactly where. However, this classical-style building is beautifully designed and appears to have been constructed with great care—it's quite impressive. The first floor is a square hall connecting the north and south roads, each with a "Wenchang Pavilion" plaque. I didn't look closely at what stories the reliefs on the architraves depict. The second floor has projecting pavilions in four directions with upturned eaves, showing Tang and Song dynasty style. The dragon heads at the corner beams have mythical beast mouths holding dragon pearls, with rather blank expressions. "Gaipusangma" is hung on the north side and "Juchengwuwu" on the south. Above is an octagonal, multi-tiered pointed roof. You should be able to climb up for a view, but unfortunately, the door was closed, so I'm not sure exactly how many floors there are. Looking back while descending the hill, I noticed that the "Wenchang Pavilion" inscription was actually by Chen Hongshu, a famous Ming Dynasty painter and calligrapher from Fengqiao. The museum also has a special exhibition about him. I didn't get to try the food on Wanshou Street, don't know if the Train History Museum is worth visiting, and the bars near Qingyue City are quite comfortable to sit in. I'll have to visit again.
