The snow here is very thick, and the road along the way is already snowy mountains and snowy scenery. Chaka Salt Lake We visited the Mirror of the Sky. If you want to walk on the salt lake, bring your own shoe covers. Laji Mountain Although we watched the sunrise yesterday at Riyue Mountain, we still wanted to see the golden sunlight on the mountain at Laji Mountain. The sunrise there is around 8:30 a.m. Before dawn, many people set off fireworks. The blue hour is very beautiful. Seeing the golden sunlight on the mountain depends on luck. Watching the sunrise at Laji Mountain gives you the feeling of being a vibrant and hopeful young person today. Ta’er Monastery It is recommended to hire a guide when visiting Ta’er Monastery because it’s really hard to understand on your own. With a guide, besides admiring the architecture and praying, you can also listen to stories and learn about the culture. Also, because it’s the off-season, all expenses are ridiculously low. It’s said that in spring, you can see beautiful fields of blooming rapeseed flowers here~ Of course, you can’t miss Yadan Devil City! Arriving here at sunset is absolutely stunning! The uniquely shaped earth mounds are dyed golden by the setting sun, resembling a mysterious castle standing in the desert. You can also stay overnight to stargaze~ On clear nights, the Milky Way is clearly visible, and every photo looks like wallpaper quality! Day 5: The colorful end of the world—Zhangye Danxia For the last day, I chose a more relaxed itinerary—a half-day tour of the Zhangye Danxia. Departing around 2 p.m., the scenery kept changing until the dazzlingly colorful land appeared before my eyes… Truly a masterpiece of nature’s craftsmanship! The layered colors look like a spilled palette, brilliantly gorgeous and breathtaking! Due to its location, sunset comes earlier here than in Dunhuang; around 5:30 p.m., the sun slowly sets and disappears by about 6 p.m., so we hurried back to the city for dinner~ I highly recommend trying the local specialty Lao Zhou’s stir-fried bola noodles paired with a sweet and tangy lemon tea—refreshing and perfect to end the trip! Accommodation Recommendations Stay at chain brand hotels throughout the trip for great value, cleanliness, good hygiene, convenient locations, and easy transportation. Whether by taxi or public transit, it’s very convenient, so you don’t have to worry about transportation issues affecting your mood or sleep quality, ensuring you have plenty of energy to enjoy the next day’s adventures! Tips 1. Be sure to take sun protection seriously!!! The UV rays are strong and can easily burn your skin. Remember to bring sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, masks, and reapply regularly to avoid tanning or sunburn~ 2. The temperature difference between morning and night is large, so prepare warm clothes to prevent colds and illness that could affect your trip. Items like windbreakers, fleece jackets, down jackets, etc., can be chosen based on actual conditions. No need to wear overly heavy clothes that might restrict movement and hinder long outdoor activities~ 3. Respect local customs, religious beliefs, and taboos to avoid unnecessary trouble.
