While winter might not be the most popular time to head to the beach, our trip to Flamingo Cat Ba Resort turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of the year. Amid the busy end-of-year hustle, my friends and I decided to take a short escape to relax, reflect, and enjoy some quality time together – and Flamingo Cat Ba was the perfect place for that. 📍Location & First Impressions: The resort is ideally located right by Cat Co 1 and 2 beaches, offering breathtaking views of both the sea and surrounding mountains. Flamingo Cat Ba features three modern towers connected by the iconic Sky Walk – a glass bridge suspended mid-air, making even the short walks between buildings feel like an adventure. 🏠Accommodation: We stayed in a spacious 2-bedroom suite with a large balcony overlooking the sea. The room was airy, well-furnished, and equipped with modern amenities. The wide balcony quickly became our favorite spot to enjoy the fresh ocean breeze and soak in the serene atmosphere. 🛏️ Facilities & Services: This resort feels like a small town of its own, offering everything from arcade games and karaoke rooms to a spa, gym, onsen, multiple swimming pools, karaoke, (including a heated indoor pool), and several dining options. 🥗 Speaking of food, we tried all three on-site restaurants, and Lan Ha Restaurant was a definite standout. In general, the shop has a minimalist, modern design with neutral color tones, a neat bar and quite nine staff. The shop has 2 floors, wide frontage, and reasonable lighting. #vietnamtrip A clean beach with great views About 3/4th mile from the city centre, the beach at one of the ends of the main road is the a cool spot to relax. It is right next to a resort and not too long, and isn't easily noticeable given that there are many cars and taxis parked right in front of the small entry gate. The views of the rock formations on both right and left are amazing, and there is a small trail which goes through the rocks at the extreme right of the beach.

As part of our journey toward Halong Bay, our bus made a stop at Ngọc Trai Hạ Long – HALONG PEARL, a popular stopover point for tour groups and travelers heading to the bay. The experience was quite educational, especially for first-time visitors curious about how pearls are cultured. A short live demonstration was conducted where an attendant explained in English how pearls are grown and harvested, which made the stop more engaging. The process was interesting to watch and surprisingly efficient — the whole demo took about 5 minutes. After the demonstration, we were ushered into a large adjacent showroom filled with pearl jewelry and accessories. The staff mentioned that the pearls sold here are endorsed by the local government, although we couldn’t verify that claim. Prices varied widely, from smaller souvenirs to high-end pieces.
