My visit to the Catskill Mountains during fall was full of scenic moments. I remember driving through winding mountain roads while colorful trees covered the hillsides around me. Every few minutes there seemed to be another viewpoint worth stopping for. I enjoyed photographing the bright red and orange foliage, especially where it contrasted with the green evergreen trees. The cool mountain air made exploring comfortable, and the quiet atmosphere encouraged me to slow down. I loved how natural and peaceful the whole experience felt. The Catskills gave me plenty of beautiful memories for #fallcolors. #fallcolors

On a crisp morning in Flushing, our church's evangelism travel group set off for one of New York State's most breathtaking fall foliage destinations—Sam’s Point Preserve, a place seemingly close to the clouds. The night before, New York experienced a heavy downpour. We were initially concerned about slippery trails and fallen leaves, but as we arrived at the foot of the mountain, sunlight began to peek through the clouds. About 60% of the leaves still clung to the trees, shimmering in the breeze with vibrant layers of color. The scene before us resembled a painting, washing away the noise of the world and leaving only the beauty of God’s creation and grace. We ascended the Sam’s Point Loop Trail at a leisurely pace, treading on rain-soaked leaves. The air was exceptionally fresh. At times, a light mist enveloped the trail, with sunlight filtering through the maple trees, casting dappled golden light. Red and orange leaves intertwined with pine trees, creating a picturesque autumn tableau. When we reached the observation deck, the distant valleys were shrouded in mist, and the mountain peaks seemed to float above the clouds. In that moment, all the travelers fell silent. Standing there, I felt a profound sense of peace, though my fear of heights made my legs weak. By evening, we began our journey back. The setting sun bathed the forest in a gentle golden-red hue, illuminating the remaining leaves. On the bus, Pastor Zhou suddenly asked me, "You've attended a few sermons now. What are your thoughts?" Looking at the winding road home through the window, I smiled and said, "If I lack the ability to change things myself, I’ll let the Lord lead me." Pastor Zhou nodded and smiled, "That is the maturity of faith. Letting go is not retreating; it’s the moment to let the Lord take over." This autumn trip taught me that life is sometimes like this autumn rain—it may dull the scenery a bit, but it also washes away the dust, making what remains even more precious. Though the foliage was no longer at its peak, the remaining 60% of vibrant red leaves allowed me to see the beauty in imperfection. Just like the journey of faith—we often think that God’s grace must overflow to be considered a blessing. Yet sometimes, He leaves a bit of emptiness to teach us trust. 🗺️ Sam’s Point Preserve Travel Guide 📍 Address: 400 Sam’s Point Rd, Cragsmoor, NY 12420 🚗 Departure: About a 2-hour drive from Flushing (recommended departure before 7:30 AM) 🕰 Hours: Open daily 9:00 AM–5:00 PM (parking reservations required in fall) 🎟 Admission: Parking fee $10 (or use a New York State Park Pass) Recommended Trails: · Sam’s Point Loop Trail (approx. 2.3 miles): Ideal for a half-day hike with excellent summit views. · Verkeerderkill Falls Trail (round trip approx. 6 miles): Features New York State’s tallest waterfall. · Ice Caves Trail (approx. 3 miles): Closed during certain seasons, but still offers stunning autumn scenery.

I also explored some of the nearby countryside, where the views became even more open and peaceful. What I liked most was the combination of small-town charm and natural beauty. Woodstock felt like a wonderful place to experience #fallcolors slowly. #fallcolors

I visited Mohonk Preserve during autumn and enjoyed exploring the trails surrounded by colorful forests and rocky landscapes. The leaves were changing into brilliant shades of red, orange, and yellow, creating beautiful scenery around the cliffs and open viewpoints. I spent time walking along the trails and stopping whenever I found a wide view across the landscape. The combination of colorful trees and exposed rock made the scenery especially dramatic. I liked taking my time and enjoying the crisp air rather than trying to cover too much ground. It was a memorable #fallcolors experience. #fallcolors
