#2024mapped This summer 🌞 my friend and I went to Margate beach on a day trip. We took National Express from London Victoria coach station and we were there in roughly about 2,50 hours. We ended up walking from Margate beach all the way to Broadstairs beach. Two hours walk! Scouting for the perf etc beach location to settle and enjoy the beach. It was full of emotions, extremely hot 🔥 and fun. The beach at Broadstairs was truly an amazing spot. #myhiddengems Later we went to a local pub to eat and took a bus back to London from Broadstairs. #travel #beach #newdaynewdestination #england #walk

Walk into Turner Contemporary with free admission and capture the full view from inside. Is a beautiful piece when you’re inside the contemporary place. Recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ninety minutes from central London takes you to the seaside town of Margate. The main beach is incredibly accessible and five minutes from the train station. Margate wears its historic past lightly; the promenade displays typical coastal English shops and arcades right next door to cool micro breweries and Michelin guide eateries. But that’s not all. There’s lots of art to see and experience and we have to give a special mention to the Carl Freedman Gallery and the Turner Contemporary which should not be missed. I will be the first to admit, I was not feeling confident as I left the railway station and looked out at Margate’s somewhat brutalist skyline. Having shared the train carriage with a gaggle of foreign exchange students, I found myself feeling a little embarrassed that they were experiencing the same anti-climactic entrance to the town as us. ‘This isn’t the best of the British coast, I promise!’ I wanted to call out to them! However, venturing into the old town and along the sea front, I started to see the town’s charm for myself. Cute vintage shops lined the streets, and quirky eateries and bars were crammed into every available space… be it tiny shopfronts, shipping containers dotted along the harbour wall or just little shacks out on the sand. We quickly realised the afternoon wasn’t going to be nearly enough to do the town (or the foodie scene!) justice and regretted leaving it so late in the day to arrive… Margate, we will be back!
