Busan's ATESAN Forest: My Hidden Wonderland in the City! 🌳🎬
#summervacay
If you're looking for a peaceful and dreamy forest escape right in Busan, you absolutely have to visit ATESAN Forest (아홉산숲)! It's truly a hidden gem, and when I was there, it felt like I'd stepped right into a fairy tale.
This enchanting forest has served as a filming location for popular K-dramas like Hotel Del Luna, Goblin (Guardian: The Lonely and Great God), and The King: Eternal Monarch, which means it's incredibly photogenic! I kept thinking, "Wow, this spot was in that scene!"
Imagine towering bamboo groves, incredibly soft moss underfoot, and winding paths... every step I took felt like I was walking through a magical storybook. The air was filled with that fresh, damp forest scent, and just breathing it in felt incredibly therapeutic – I could literally feel myself relaxing.
Planning My Visit:
Getting There: From downtown Busan, it took me about an hour's drive. It's a bit of a journey, but totally worth it.
Admission: Entry for adults was 8,000 KRW. I'd say it's a fantastic spot for anyone who loves light hiking and being surrounded by beautiful bamboo.
What I Wore: I definitely recommend wearing comfortable shoes as you'll be doing a fair bit of walking, stopping to take photos, and just soaking in the atmosphere. It's perfect for a half-day trip!
Photography Tip: When I visited on a sunny day, the light filtering through the bamboo created the most incredible shadows and highlights. My photos turned out amazing directly from my camera – I didn't even need filters!
Parking: There's free parking available below the main area. Just a heads-up, after you park, you'll need to walk a bit to reach the actual entrance.
Address: 520-10 Ungcheon-ri, Cheolma-myeon, Gijang-gun, Busan (부산 기장군 철마면 웅천리 520-10)
Opening Hours: It's open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
ATESAN Forest truly felt like a "green wonderland" hidden right within the city, offering me a serene escape and countless photo opportunities!
