Let's go Shanghai!! Taking vibrant photos
The first two days we wandered around Shanghai taking photos 📸 The weather was just cold ❄️ with strong winds 🌬️ It's a city that feels super Hi-tech and a Cashless society. In the morning, we happened to see two little Robots 🤖 walking around. Wow, it was like being in a movie.
Today we traveled outside the city 🧳 heading to the Angel Valley 😇 Wangxian Valley ⛰️✨ an ancient village and a 4A tourist attraction in China 🇨🇳
Traveling in China is quite convenient...🛤️
🪭 Early morning 🌞 left the JI hotel near The Bund, took the Metro for about 40 minutes
🪭 to catch the Hi-speed train booked through Trip.com, very convenient 🚅 at Shanghai Hongqiao Station and rode for about 3 hours 💺 plus one more stop adding another hour 🥹 The staff were very kind 👮🏻 everyone was very helpful, truly impressive ❤️
🪭 Upon arriving at Shangrao Station, we called Didi 🚖 and rode about 1 hour to check in at Xiansu Hotel 🏨 located inside Angel Valley. We arrived at the hotel around 4 PM 🌤️
⛰️✨ Settled in, then went out to find something to eat 🍢 and took photos with beautiful light 📸 and lots of people around
☀️ Early morning we went out to take photos, it was great with no crowds, so enjoyable
We returned to Shanghai city and this time stayed at Weiting Hotel (Nanjing East Road), right next to the Metro #wangxiangu #wangxianvalley This is the first time planning 5 days with no plans 5555 😆 Just strolling the city, taking photos, shopping, and eating delicious food 😚
Special shoutout to the food that really hit the spot, could eat on repeat 🥢 including…
🥇 Number 1 delicious goes to Ah ma handmade🧋 recommended by P’Ta☺️ Taro milk tea with chewy mochi, had it several times. There are many branches, search on amap with "Amo Shouzuo." Wish they would open in Thailand 🥺
🥘 New Sukiyaki, a popular Thai favorite spicy hotpot buffet, excellent both savory and sweet, good quality meat and seafood, peeled shrimp, even abalone. Ate until exhausted. My favorite is the Haagen-Dazs ice cream. Recommend taking Didi to a branch outside tourist areas, no queues there.
🥢 Hongchun Chuanchuanxiang RedLips, a dry stir-fried spicy hotpot place with many branches. The sauce is incredibly flavorful and delicious. Choose your favorite ingredients 🐮🐷🐟🦐🥬 on trays, then weigh and pay by weight. So tasty I kept going back. Thanks to Nong Nut’s page for the recommendation.
💚 Feidachu Cayenne Pepper Chaorou, Chef Fei’s place, every dish is delicious. Stir-fried pork with bell peppers is amazing, garlic chili beef is tasty, whole grilled chicken is juicy with crispy skin and fragrant spices. Even simple stir-fried veggies are delicious. Seaweed soup is great. First visit I missed out because they closed the queue. Set a goal to eat there tomorrow. Arrived at 10 AM when the mall opened, got queue number 2 😆 Someone beat me to it. There are several branches; recommend going to non-touristy areas.
🥨 BUTTERFUL & CREAMOROUS Butter and Bread, a trendy favorite among Thais, with lots of pastries. At first, the size looked big and not likely tasty, probably no butter or milk. Asked P’Ta again if it’s worth it... it is! So I went. It’s really delicious. The mille-feuille fills you up with just one piece 5555
🥯 New York Bagelous Museum wasn’t on my must-eat list. Most bagels are dense, so I’m not very into them, not much butter or milk 5555 But I passed by, smelled it, and saw the crowd, so I tried. Couldn’t decide, so picked the one labeled Top1, some Wagyu thing, super delicious. Yummy! Even while typing, I’m drooling wanting more.
🥟 Yang's Dumpling, pork xiaolongbao is very delicious. The dough is soft on top, crispy on the bottom, and the soup inside is amazing. Many branches, ate many times. Wherever the queue is long, Nong Yang always handles it 5555
🧀 Holiland, a popular bakery for Thai souvenirs. Their cheesecakes are good, nicely packaged, and tasty. Perfect for buying on the day of departure. I went on the wrong day, returning in 2 days, so I ate it myself. Thanks to P’Ad O for the recommendation.
💸 Huaihai is my favorite shopping district, really a splurge 5555 Many shops to explore: Songmont, HUMAN MADE, TAMBURINS, Gentle Monster, Niko and more.
📱 Essential apps used: Alipay, Amap, Dianping, TrueMoney
🩷 Cashless, truly no cash spent even a yuan. I love spicy hotpot. Luckily, all the bathrooms were clean. I understand they try to solve pain points by many places using automatic flushing systems. Awesome.
💔 People smoke a lot here 🚬 It really stings the nose.
