Audeum Address:

Seoul only! "Audeum" Audio Museum, Kengo Kuma and Kenya Hara create a secret world of sound and light aesthetics, you must make an appointment to experience it!
Come explore the Sound Museum today
The new landmark "Audeum" Audio Museum in Seoul, designed by Kengo Kuma and Kenya Hara, is full of ingenuity. The museum combines classical phonographs with modern audio equipment to create a space that combines a retro atmosphere with a futuristic feel. The warm wooden walls, the delicate flow of light and shadow, and the surround sound field make every step seem like entering a dialogue between sound and design.
It is strongly recommended to make an appointment in advance. Not only is the number of visitors limited, but guided tours are also provided. The explanations are in-depth and detailed, allowing people to better feel the culture and design connotations behind the audio. If English tour guides can be added in the future, I believe it will attract more international tourists! Whether you are a music fan, a design enthusiast, or a traveler who simply wants to experience the beauty of tranquility, you will definitely fall in love with this museum where art and sound are intertwined.

Jeongum Museum: A Museum Where You Only Need to Bring Your Ears
Jeongum Museum: A Museum Where You Only Need to Bring Your Ears
If you're looking for a unique way to explore Seoul, consider visiting niche exhibitions.
This time, it's the newly opened Jeongum Museum in 2024, which was once so popular that tickets were hard to come by. It's only open from Thursday to Saturday, and advance online reservations are required on the official website.
The exhibition spans four floors, with a spatial layout designed around the essence of "sound." On one hand, it introduces sound broadcasting equipment from different eras; on the other, it breathes new life into these ancient devices. To enhance the visitor experience, the founder has opted for guided tours. The entire tour lasts about 2 hours.
In different spaces, you can hear various sounds: opera, classical, pop, jazz, and more. The arrangement of vintage equipment and acoustic spaces truly evokes the phrases "lingering melodies" and "immersive experience." The distinct tones of broadcasting machines from different eras also create a sense of time travel. The cylinder phonograph is particularly special. My favorite is the extraordinary music box that assembles an entire band into one—truly unique.
Of course, most of the space is dedicated to traditional amplifier experiences. Vast rooms dim their lights kindly the moment the music starts, leaving you alone with the sounds of time.
So, just bring your ears and come here.
PS: After booking, you can arrive 30 minutes early to collect your ticket. There's a screening room where you can wait and watch an introductory documentary.
PPS: Currently, after the tour, you'll receive a special pencil set for leaving a review on Google Maps.
Korean: 오디움.
Bus stop at the entrance: Super convenient from Gangnam—take buses like 470/741. Arrive at Tapseong Village.

The museum also features historical phonographs and radios, giving a glimpse into how people enjoyed music long before the digital age. From ornate wooden gramophones to sleek mid-century Hi-Fi systems, each exhibit tells a story of innovation and craftsmanship in the world of sound.
One of the highlights of Audeum Sound Museum is its listening room, where visitors can sit back and enjoy music in a perfectly tuned acoustic space. Whether it’s the soft crackle of a record or the deep, resonant tones of a tube amplifier, the experience is a feast for the ears.
For those interested in the art of sound and vintage audio culture, this museum is a hidden gem in Seoul. Whether you’re a music enthusiast, a history buff, or just looking for a unique museum experience, Audeum Sound Museum offers a nostalgic and immersive journey into the world of audio.

Audio Museum, Odium: In Search of New Sounds
Opened on June 5, 2024, Odium is a museum where you can listen to various sounds from the past, from the phonograph invented by Edison, to the propaganda audio used by Hitler, to the jukebox from 100 years ago.
If you go down the stairs to the basement, you can feel the intention of architect Kengo Kuma, who wanted to create a 'space where sound can reach'.
There is a listening time, so it is operated only as a docent tour,
and advance reservations are required, like concert ticketing, which sells out quickly.
